Tips for relaxation

We live in a society that is generally seen as fast paced where we desire things to be done almost instantaneously i.e. right now. This often leaves us with a sense of not having enough time to enjoy life, live wholesomely or even relax. Living like this may leave us burned out, overwhelmed, stressed. It is therefore import that we learn how to relax and enjoy what life has to offer. Contrary to what some may believe, we don’t “only live once”, we live every day, and therefore need to make the most of each day while ensuring we make time to relax. Here are some tips that could help you develop a rhythm of relaxation.




1. Spend time meditating; this gives a sense of peace and calm which is beneficial to one’s emotional, spiritual, psychological and physical wellbeing.

2. Read a book, as it helps to put the mind at ease.

3. Go for a walk without your phone, or turn it off. This helps to avoid unnecessary distractions while allowing you to focus. It may take the form of a nature walk allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the natural environment.

4. Listen to some relaxing music that suits your current mood while allowing you to reflect or meditate.

5. Do something nice for a stranger, for a friend; an act of kindness can be very rewarding and fulfilling.

6. Get a deep body massage; it helps to reduce pain, muscle soreness and tension, while keeping you alert and more energetic.

7. Spend some quality time with friends, have fun, laugh out loud, enjoy each other’s company.

8. Reflect on the good in your life; it’s much more fulfilling than you believe.
